The Coolest Mini Golf Putter of All Time!

It’s here!

My custom putter for Mini Golf has been completed!

At the Greater Milwaukee Golf Expo back in March, in West Allis, Wisconsin, Missus Mini Golf and I stumbled upon Ember Exotic Wood Putters. These putters used various exotic woods from all over the world and they looked amazing. I knew I needed one. I began the conversation with Mike and Barbara, the owners and creators. After discussing the numerous options, and feeling slightly overwhelmed with making the decision, this became my dream creation:

The club in its entirety. Yes, it is double sided! I can play lefty or righty as the situation calls for. The length is 32″ and has a lie angle of 75 degrees.

A very tasteful leather grip that adds class and goes with the wood of the putter head.

The putter head has a mixture of different woods which include the following:

  • Brown Ebony
  • Cocobolo
  • Spalted Maple
  • Curly Maple

I also had a gold golf ball inlay put into the head of the putter. It certainly is a wow factor and compliments the wood colors for sure!

The right side profile

The left side profile

The bottom of the club reads:

Custom Made In

The USA For

KARL BARTH

Ember Exotic Wood Putters

Dublin, Ohio

I got to use it yesterday for the first time at Baehmann’s Golf Center in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. I told Missus Mini Golf to film me on the first hole because I was going to get a hole-in-one and that I only need 1 take. My confidence was key and here is the result! 😎

The stroke of this putter feels amazing! If you want a putter that is high quality, a talking point amongst your friends, and that is uniquely you, look no further, Ember Exotic Wood Putters is the place.

If you intend to order from Ember Exotic Wood Putters make sure to mention MiniGolfReviews and get 10% off your order!

Happy putting everyone!

Par-King Skill Golf: Red Course – Hole 13

Lincolnshire, Illinois

Red Course: Hole 13

The castle is found at many Mini Golf courses around the world. This one really tests accuracy of your putt. To get to the hole, you have to make it across the bridge and either be left or right in there. Left appears to follow the red path and right follows green. You really want to follow green and to the right as this comes out by the hole. Left and red does bring you down to the lower green with like a marble chute but not very close to the hole. Also, if you don’t have enough strength, the ball will roll back on the bridge and drop into the water. This hole then has a secondary tee area to hit from on the lower green but with the penalty applied of course.

The soldiers stand at attention as you prepare your putt. An obstacle moves underneath, cleverly deflecting your ball away from the hole so timing is everything. Controlling your ball speed is important to knowing when to hit because you might have the timing down but forget to account for the travel of the ball.

This hole was a pretty good one. The skill shot is on the left side and into a red box and then it shoots out a pipe consistently in the hole. You might just lasso an ace. Wrapping around the right side, the ball goes all the way around and banks off the corner. When shooting to the left be careful of the ball bouncing around because it could be stuck at the top or start rolling down towards the far spot in the corner.

It comes at no surprise that on the hole with the clock that timing is everything. Beneath the clock is a barrier that rises and lowers. Getting through the clock with the barrier up allows you to hit a wedge that lines you up with hole. If you hit the the barrier, the ball shoots out to the side. This can actually work okay but most likely ends up as a long second shot.

The super loop! This is one where the skill shot really pays off! Hit it up the ramp and watch as the elevator takes your ball to the top of the super loop and gravity takes over! There is a good chance it ends up being a hole-in-one too! If you miss to either the left or right you may have a tricky 2 or 3 heading your way. There is a slight slope where the ball comes out from underneath which can make shot number two pretty tricky.

The race car hole! The middle track is the best option and then the left. The worst is the right. The ball can be blocked for shot two very easily and can hurt your score fairly quickly. A short shot goes down a blue ramp but doesn’t end up in too bad of a spot. The key is to stick to the left.

This hole has a lot of options and has some mechanics to it. This is designed rather well as there are many ways to get a hole-in-one. A long shot can go all the way around and bank off of the end wedge. The ball could stop along the curve and roll down. The ball could go in the apparatus loading the spaceship and shoot out. Lastly a quick bank shot off the tee gets the job done as well. The spaceship loading apparatus is fun to watch but it isn’t a reliable method as sometimes the ball pops out randomly. I personally prefer the quick and easy bank shot.

Humpty Dumpty chilling up on his wall. Hopefully, he doesn’t fall. There are 3 choices to choose from. Left, right, and center. Center is the best option to getting a hole-in-one as it goes through the center at the back. The left and right shoot out at an angle so a hole-in-one is unlikely but could still happen with some lucky bouncing.

This is one of my favorite holes! The holes rotate! It is challenging and fun! You start with no direct view of the two holes so you must wrap around the edge and bank off of the yellow wedge. Depending on speed, angle, power, the ball can bank towards the holes. With luck on timing, you can get a hole-in-one. If you end up on the rotating platform, it can be disorienting to sink the shot as you rotate. The secret is just focus on the ball, if you look around, you will be disoriented by the movement.

The Statue of Liberty as France intended for it to look. This hole is pretty simple, just make it up the ramp to get towards the hole. If you end up right or left of the ramp, the ball will be in the drink with a penalty to you.

A beautiful carousel is the main focal point of this hole. There are five options on getting to the hole directly behind the carousel. Options 1 and 2 are going around either left or right. This can result in a hole-in-one but needs a little bit of luck. Options 3 and 4 involves the center area. There are both left and right side areas the drop out the back but not really that favorable of drop. Now option 5 requires the most straightest of shots, right up the middle, out the back and almost always into the hole.

This one is a Native American themed hole. There is a totem pole and a design like a Native American in a headdress. There are two shot options right off the bat. A narrow channel that the ball will be guided by the edging to a wedge that will cause the ball to bank and head towards the hole in the recessed Native American head. The other option is a bank shot off a wedge from the start on the left. A really hard shot is needed to get the second bank off the edging to go towards the hole.

Not sure if Happy Gilmore would be very happy seeing this hole and I’m not sure the clown would be too pleased seeing him either. This hole is all about aiming straight and true. The clown rotates slightly and closes off the correct path so time your shot carefully!

A tough hole to finish off the course. A jump with access to a water hazard on the left side is the first challenge. The jump can be hard to judge. The next and final hard part is getting it into the lighthouse. It is a fairly narrow opening and the green has some hard to read slopes.

Calling this hole Traditions makes quite a bit of sense, the horseshoe type hole can be found at nearly any course in the world. With just some slight variances in shape and the opening to the water hazard present by cup, make this their own take. Follow the edging the best you can to make it around and with a little luck, a bank shot may get you in the cup. Again, be wary of that water hazard behind the hole, it acts like a ball magnet!

For a par 3, this hole is rather tricky. You want to be very careful on hitting too hard as a reckless shot could end up in the drink a number of ways. Bank shots are key here to a low score but even those with a bank shot mind can have trouble with these angles. If you really want to score low but not risk going for a hole-in-one, then laying up is a great option. Try to land between the first and second water hazards for the best lie for shot 2.

Long, curvy, and uneven. It can be quite a challenge to get around those curves so play the angles. Be cautious that there are some open sand traps near the end of the curve that can make it quite difficult to make par.
