Puttery – Art Course – Hole 5

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Puttery is a Mini Golf franchise found at 10 locations throughout the U.S. with more locations on the way. The Puttery location we went to was in Minneapolis, Minnesota and consisted of three themed 9 hole courses:

The Conservatory – 9 holes

Library – 9 holes

Art – 9 holes

Puttery is 21+ establishment. They focus on food and beverage sales with indoor Mini Golf. It’s fun and great for social gatherings but the Mini Golf is just okay. Theming is pretty solid and certainly some great ideas for a couple of holes but overall playability is not really great at all.

Some tech is also incorporated into the course with electronic scorekeeping, leaderboards, and ace tracker. Cool features but has their own problems such as letting groups play through. The system is not setup for that so you can be waiting quite a bit.

Also, no different colors for golf balls so best to play one at a time all the way through to avoid confusion. Although number marked, it can be difficult to keep track with a lot of players.

This is the fifth hole of the Art course at Puttery in Minneapolis. Hole 5 was one of my personal favorites at Puttery. It had the best art style of street/graffiti and transformed the room. The hole design itself was a turn to the left with a ramp and a hidden hole between two paint cans. The play was a bank shot off of a skate board in the right corner near the tee.

Mister Mini Golf Pro Tips

Use the metal plate off of the skateboard to kick over to the cup. Hit hard!

ADA Accessibility Notes: Their website claims that the facility is wheelchair friendly but none of the courses follow the rules that would indicate that they are. Some may be playable but not a whole course. Mainly due to obstacle spacing and that there are no openings completely through the hole designs.

For more details on course accessibility, always check in with a course you are visiting as they may be able to do additional accommodations. In addition, a great resource is the ADA Checklist for Miniature Golf Courses.
